6 cylinders are nice. 12 are better. Doors that open out are fine. But doors that open upwards like wings are way cooler. Engines in the front of the car? Boring. Put it in the back, over the rear wheels so the engine weight gives more traction. That’s what you want. And that’s what you’ll get when you swing by the auction and drop a mansion’s worth of cash on this 1976 Lamborghini Countach LP 400 “Periscopio”.
With only around 150 ever made, this iconic wedge-shaped machine was built for speed and more speed. This particular car has had only three owners, still boasts the same (insanely well-preserved) engine and took 2nd in its class at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Two years later in 2015, the car was featured on an episode of Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” where he interviews fellow comedian Jim Carrey. You can pretty much bet you’ll be the only Johnny on the block with a specimen this rare and this pristine.
