The Jaguar C-Type is known for two things. First, the famed sports car flaunts elegant swerves, yet exhibits an undeniable sharpness despite its lack of hard edges. Second, the C-Type took first, second, and fourth place at the 1953 Le Mans race. Bremont commemorates the latter point with the new C-Type Chronograph, built to emulate the former point. Its overall aesthetic is triumphant yet practical, the kind of well-mannered flex that British engineering does best.
Curved lugs create intriguing dissonance with the saw-tooth edges of the anodized aluminum bezel, as does the Dunlop engraving on the crown, Jaguar’s heritage tire tread. Meanwhile, the 27-jewel chrono movement is protected by a domed sapphire and Bremont’s Trip-Tick case, featuring a PVD-treated center.
These super fine details mirror the aerodynamism of the original watch and car. And they do that while also providing a pragmatism that makes this timepiece easy and unintimidating, even if you aren’t used to wearing fancy sport watches.
