I know what you’re doing. You’re supposed to be working but instead you keep sneaking over to cheap flight sites and top-ten vacation spot articles. You can nearly taste a time when the walls of your home and the aisle of your grocery store are not the defining parameters of your world. Travel is coming. The Vintage Trailer Resort is a spot-on way to ease back into it.
Set in Oregon’s wine-producing Willamette Valley, it’s about 50 minutes southwest of Portland and features 35 retro-cool trailers. Some of the trailers are of the fully restored, vintage variety and others have been custom-fabricated to replicate the midcentury charm. Each trailer comes with grills for summertime burgers and a set of cruiser bikes for slow pedalling in the sun.
Communal offerings include a fire pit lounge area, a pool, super clean shower facilities, and a general store stocked with local snacks and wine. The surrounding valley has hundreds of wineries, an olive mill, farm-to-table restaurants, and the charm of the city of McMinnville just a couple miles down the road. When it’s time to get back out there, make this stop number one.
